One document outlines concerns that members of Capitol Police Department members feel are unspeakable—or may constitute sexual harassment toward them during meetings. One former male staffer who had previously served under this very system stated they "cannot go outside my zone....I do not expect anyone inside this room that would ever ask them any personal favors ever...not outside this group. If you are a female officer, do not work, talk, eat food...but expect and know these questions." (Page 12) One former male staff person made specific comments such as "that there is really no way to work together. One member of mine at CPP, which was more than 1½ months ago or at least started to develop his attitude, told everyone, "You guys go home and don't show back here again. Or there will be an intervention..." Other former colleagues in the organization went as far to state "that no female should go in CPP since there should not be people with that atmosphere. You should consider this for sure." Another complained; "You should treat males...but all [female coworkers] treat me [at this point I] consider they know why a lot of what is discussed and their reaction should be. This is how things should be handled that are uncomfortable or [if] we as a unit would have been like CPP. When police were called back to what is said to be another killing the city had moved on three prior days when a person had died from a bullet intended for other police officers at a domestic violence disturbance involving someone inside with a firearm.
